Easter break

I've had such a busy easter, but with the little bit of sunshine we've been getting it's clear to see that spring is here (well as close as England gets) and this means bringing out summery springtime colours. pastels and bold brights are definately back. I've chosen yellow to have the starring role this week but if you're feeling daunted by yellow's reputation as a difficult colour, have a peep through the set below and see some beautiful items in sunglow shades- hey, if it's good enough for Audrey, it's good enough for you!

old news flash

Finally cleared my laptop after virusgate. And as soon as I got onto the web again guess what I found?
Autowed! It's an automated marraige vending machine designed by British designers Concept Shed AutoWed is a novelty wedding machine offering a quick hitch, a couple of rings and a personalised (although unofficial) certificate for just £1/$1. Motion sensors are used to call out to passers-by to come and get hitched. Once you insert your money, it plays a specially composed almost 8-bit intro version of the wedding march and asks you to select your union type; “Press one for straight, two for gay, three for lesbian or four for B.F.F.” You both enter your names on the machined metal keyboard and AutoWed asks if you take each other as lawful wedded partners and to press one for ‘I do’ or press two to ‘Escape’. It then takes you through the rest of your ceremony and vends two plastic eggs with rings in and prints out your personalised wedding receipt from a thermal printer. It finishes by offering you a 10% discount for AutoDivorce with your receipt. I just think it's a rather cute idea and just a bit of fun really.

Style envy of the week: Paloma Faith

With Paloma Faith's upcoming album release "Fall to Grace" (which is due out May 28th- I'M EXCITED) I started looking back at some of the outfits she's worn in the past with envy, this woman is always looking amazing and her outfits always show her personality. It's almost like she's from a fairy tale with vibrant hair and personality to match.

She was born Paloma Faith Blomfield, to a Spanish father and an English mother who divorced when she was four. Although she knows her father ('he taught me to love jazz... and food'), she grew up with her mother in Stoke Newington, 'before the yuppies moved there. My mum's house used to be worth ten grand.' (source)

I love that she has the style confidence to mix sequins, faux flowers and flesh coloured fishnets and pull it off with such razzle dazzle.

I'm even in love with her tattoo, everything about her is beautiful. With this in mind, I've been scanning the web for some Paloma inspired looks at a high street price :) also, I've been playing around wiht polyvore lately...LOVE IT.

Random week & St. Patrick's Day

This week has been totally random and odd. I've been so busy I've even neglected my goldfish this weekend! (FYI: Natalie is a crazy goldfish woman-they're cheaper than cats and don't judge you as much) Between Randomly being called up at the last mintues to work at my local pub for the weekend and being a total insomiac with other issues thrown in I had time to realise it was st. paddy's day on the saturday, so I've been looking around for wonder pieces with a touch of the irish charm to them. I saw some awesome outfits this weekend, so I became the local weirdo for a day asking girls where they got their stuff and these are some of my favourites!
